Please help me understand further about the usage of two/four words QUIET(LY) and SILENT(LY).

Please fill in the most suitable word that is missing in the following sentences. Please explain why we have to use it, not the remaining/other one.

1)Not a sound could be heard – the house was absolutely silent (adjective/subject complement).
2)He crept quietly(adverb modifying the verb crept) into the room.
3)She pulled the door shut as quietly (adverb modifying the verb pulled) as she could. (Quietly means making very little noise. Silently means making no noise at all).
4)Although he’s a quiet(adjective modifying the noun, man) man, he enjoys other people’s company. (I quote the 4th sentence <strike>as like</strike> as in an English book, but I don’t understand why it must be people’S company.) (The 's shows possession. That is, the company of the people. He enjoyed the company of other people).
