2. “Julio the telegram is for you”, called his brother.
3. Mr. Simpson asked “what time does the softball game begin”?
4. Ms. Ito Asked the reporter “are you going to run for mayor”?
5. “Our company is on McNeil Road” replied the receptionist.
6. “You need to improve your defense” said Coach Diaz “If you expect to win the game“.

Hi Sterling,

I've picked up a few errors.

Here are some things to consider...

1. Tony said, “Meg I saw your dog in Kevin's yard."

Rule - Periods and commas always go inside quotation marks, even inside single quotes. It might have been a typing error, but you forgot the apostrophe that shows that Kevin owns the yard. Also, 'yard' should not be capitalized.

2. “Julio, the telegram is for you,”* called his brother.

*See the rule above.

Rule - Use commas before or surrounding the name or title of a person directly addressed...

3. Mr. Simpson asked, “What time does the softball game begin?”

Rules
- Use a comma to introduce a direct quotation.
- A quoted sentence begins with a capital letter.
- The placement of question marks with quotes follows logic. If you are quoting a question, the question mark should be placed inside the quotation marks..

4. Ms. Ito asked the reporter, “Are you going to run for mayor?”

See all the rules noted above.

5. “Our company is on McNeil Road,” replied the receptionist.

6. “You need to improve your defense,” said Coach Diaz, “If you expect to win the game."

Excellent.

One improvement:

6. “You need to improve your defense,” said Coach Diaz, “if you expect to win the game."
