Hi! What's is the difference between "only" and "just"?
What's the meaning of "The car-mind of Beckham"? The favourite car of Beckham? Thanks.

This is only a guess. It might mean something like "the way Beckham thinks about cars." Can you give us a complete sentence, or possibly even more context as it was used? A web search shows that David Beckham is a football (soccer) star who seems to love sports cars.

Oops - I forgot your first question.
As an adverb, only is used to limit something:
- She is only seventeen years old.
- That costs only five dollars.
As an adverb, one meaning of just is exactly the same:
- I'll let you have it for just fifty cents.
- He's just 1.9 meters tall, short for a professional basketball player.
Both words, however, have different uses that cannot be substituted for the other:
- The only reason he is in school is that he doesn't want to get a job.
- He almost got to work on time, only there was a traffic jam a block from the office.
- Pat just got here; let her catch her breath before you start asking her questions.
- She is just the person who can solve our problem.

Hello, Pete!
I think that your explanation of the differences between "only" and "just" was simply masterly.
Regarding my question about the meaning of "The car-mind of David Beckham", I can you say that Beckham is a very, very famous soccer star and his club is Real Madrid (Spain). The news said that Beckham carried his "car-mind" from Madrid to England. The Spanish translation of the headline was "El coche favorito de Beckham" (the favourite car of Beckham). I don't knew that "-mind" was a suffix.
Thanks.
