Could one say:
1-I think it is as good as you.
instead of:
2-I think it is as good as you do.

I don't think example 1 works. Even though I know what you mean, my brain insists on trying to make it "as good as you are", and it just doesn't naturally give the meaning you intend.

Hi Navi,

Yes, the sentences sound awkward to me too. I think you may need to add additional words to clarify what is being compared.

Perhaps, if you chose to use a person rather than ‘it’ in the first case, it would be better to see the comparison between what he/she is doing or is.

Example:
I think he/she is as good as you.

Since the statement doesn’t tell in what way the two items are being compared, the listener would anticipate that you would compare similar items with features that can be compared. ‘It’ doesn’t necessarily have the same features as a person. Hope that made sense to you.

The same is true of the second statement… Since you added the word ‘do’, you may need to add a verb to show that actions are being compared.

I think it does it as good as you (do).
I think he/she does it as good as you.
I think they/we do it as good as you.

Perhaps, you meant to convey another meaning…

I think it is as good as you think it is.

Then you would need to repeat ‘think’ to indicate that you are comparing what both you and the other person think.
