hi~
jennyfher
I think I like AE.
I like the way of the pronounciation of Americans, which seems to be more fluent when I speak( just in my opinon) .
Writing? I think there is not significant difference between them~

Hello Jannyfher!
I'm from Brasil and I've studied English for five years. I personally prefer the American English, I think it's easier than the British one. I think the British English is more difficult to understand the speak. I have difficulties to listen it.
Well, I hope had helped you!
Bye

Hi jennyfher!
Personally, I prefer British English because I understand it much better than AE (except for the Cockney dialect). I believe it’s really useful to imitate different accents so as to understand people speaking with various accents better and to improve your pronunciation skills.
As for writing, it seems that Americans are a bit more practical sometimes missing letters they don’t pronounce (like colour (BE) – color (AE) etc.
Actually I think it’s better for a foreigner to choose the standard variant, at least for different official meetings, for exams and so forth. I mean that something what sounds great for a foreigner doesn’t necessary sounds the same for a native-speaker. For instance, I know a lady from Nebraska who bursts her sides with laughing when hearing ‘that crazy Texas drawl’ (I bet guys from Texas do the same when she goes away):)
If you like to listen to various dialects of English, visit http://web.ku.edu/idea (http://web.ku.edu/idea/)
Good luck!

i think both AE and BE need a lot of practice so they could be so difficult at the beginning but you improve mistake by mistake. However i think AE is more comercial, practical and easier to understand because of the influence of USA on our country so this English is useful and efficiant ...i had to select one and i decided American English and i totally sure that i did the right .....i have to improve and practice a lot but we have some factors that help us ...it´s our society...our time it´s all...hey..American English is a good option:p
take care friend...see you...

Hello everyone,
I've been studying English for a long time and I'm studying International Comunication at University.
I think the best accent is the British one.
Be careful!
There are different British accents!
If I were you, I would try to learn the "Queen's English", also called "King's English", which is a very standard British English dialect that most common British people (except the ones who belong to a very high class) can't speak!
I've been studying English pronunciation for many years and I've been to England!
Many peopre from England have told me that my English pronunciation is perfect and several English experts and teachers believe that I speak in a very posh standard way, I hope it is true!
I'm willing to teach for free on MSN!
