Default regular mail

Dear Friends,

I have to send a parcel from Hungary to France and the instruction says:

Send the sample by regular mail!

What do you think 'regular mail' means here? In what other way(s) can a parcel be sent from Hungary to France? E-mail? Or 'regular mail' means mail other than air mail?

Thank you.

Well, other alternatives:

registered mail

registered mail with confirmation of receipt (a card is signed by the recipient and returned to you)

express mail

air mail (even though regular mail is air mail these days, at least from N America)

surface mail (i.e. train + ship) - cheapest, takes 2 months from here to Europe

and so on

And there are package delivery services like UPS, DHL and so forth, as well. You could even use a courier. (I wouldn't fax it, though. ).
